Support That Makes Sense
At Doulas of Austin, we believe that the best care is personalized, consistent, and rooted in trust. Whether you’re working with me or one of the carefully chosen independent contractors on my team, your experience will be tailored to your unique needs. Each doula receives one-on-one mentorship and I’m always involved behind the scenes to ensure every family receives the highest level of care.
We focus on quality over quantity, accepting only a limited number of clients each month.
This ensures you receive the dedicated time, attention, and support you deserve, along with the added benefit of continuity of care - working with the same doula from your initial welcome call through the completion of your contract.
Because support should feel seamless, intentional, and centered around you.
Let’s Talk About Birth - Honestly and Openly
Birth is more than a medical event; it’s a deeply personal and powerful experience. Yes, a healthy mom and baby are always the priority, but how you feel during birth matters too. Whether things go according to plan or take a few unexpected turns, you deserve to feel informed, respected, and actively involved in every decision.
There’s no “right” way or place to have a baby and while we fully support birth in all settings, we specialize in helping families navigate the unique challenges of hospital birth. The truth is, hospital births are often highly medicalized, driven by protocols, timelines, and pressure which can leave many mothers feeling rushed, unheard, and overwhelmed.
We don’t fight the system; we help you move confidently through it. With a strong understanding of common procedures and interventions, we offer evidence-based education and compassionate guidance so you can make informed decisions that align with your values and goals. Our approach is grounded in kindness, professionalism, and true partnership.
We don’t replace your partner – we strengthen their ability to support you. By providing practical guidance and emotional reassurance, we ease the pressure on them to “know it all”, help them recognize just how invaluable their love, presence, and protection are, and create space for them to be fully present in their own experience as well.
Our Mission
Whether you’re planning a medicated hospital birth, induction, homebirth, cesarean, or anything in between, we’re here to support your comfort, communication with providers, and informed decision-making. Our mission is simple: to ensure your voice is heard and your experience is honored, every step of the way.

“As a first-time parent and dad, Doulas of Austin played a crucial role in planning for our baby’s birth and supporting my wife and I during the birthing process. “Chiminh was an invaluable resource for our classes and virtual birth support. Having a true professional with years of experience available for any questions towards the end of pregnancy and then guidance the night I went into labor really helped put us at ease. There was only so much support I could rely on my OB for, so this personalized approach made a huge difference for me. She made me feel like a human instead of being run through a factory. My husband was also able to lean on her when they took me back for an emergency cesarean. - Lauren R.
Commonly Asked Questions
About Birth Doula Services
-
Partners often want to help, but aren’t always sure how. We offer simple, practical guidance and reassurance so they’re not left guessing or feeling like they have to know it all. Our presence eases the pressure on them and helps them recognize how powerful their love, presence, and protection really are. Having a doula also gives your partner space to take a breath - whether that’s grabbing a quick bite, using the bathroom, making a phone call, or just collecting themselves for a moment, without feeling like they’re leaving you unsupported. This kind of shared support helps you both stay more grounded, connected, and present through the experience.
-
As your doula, our role is to support you from start to finish no matter the plan - or change of plan. While some “natural birth” doulas may walk away if you end up needing a c-section, we stick with you no matter what, tailoring our support for your new situation. Because having steady, knowledgeable support can be even more vital when you need to suddenly navigate the unexpected!
-
Breastfeeding can be a lengthy process: preparing your baby to nurse, feeding, burping, soothing, and finally, getting them back to sleep. When your body is exhausted and healing from delivery, every minute of sleep counts! Having overnight doula support means you only need to worry about the actual feeding part, and a trained, nurturing caregiver will handle the rest.
-
We prioritize quality over quantity, meaning we only accept a few clients per month to make sure you receive support that’s fully present and available. This also means you get continuous care from one dedicated doula, start to finish. That being said, doulas are human and sometimes things happen. In the rare event that your doula is unavailable to attend your birth, another certified doula will be assigned who can offer the same level of care and attention so you know that no matter what, you’ll have the support you need on your big day.
Your Support Starts Here.
The process is simple: share a bit about yourself in the intake form, and I’ll be in touch for a call to talk through your needs and ways we can work together.
Certified Postpartum Doula Support
I want to share a postpartum truth that doesn’t get talked about enough – and it’s exactly why this work means so much to me: postpartum is wildly underestimated. We live in a “snap back” culture that celebrates quick recovery, but that expectation rarely matches the reality of early parenthood.
Most mothers will tell you the early weeks postpartum felt like a blur. You’re exhausted, healing from the hard work your body just did, moving through one of the most significant hormonal shifts of your life, and learning how to take care of this tiny human who depends on you for everything. It’s raw. It’s vulnerable. And it’s filled with more love and joy than you could ever imagine.
Planning for the realities of postpartum with intention sets you and your family up for a more grounded, confident start. That’s where we come in.
As mother-baby professionals, we provide postpartum support that’s rooted in lived experience and centered around the needs of the whole family. This looks like practical help around the home, newborn care, feeding and lactation support, and expert guidance on your physical recovery and emotional adjustment.
We also help you set realistic expectations – for yourself, your baby, and your family, as everyone finds their rhythm in this new “normal”. We bring a calm, steady presence when you need it most, so you can rest, heal, and focus on bonding with the amazing little human you just brought into the world.
Investing in postpartum support isn’t selfish - it’s essential.
Certified Postpartum Doula Services
OPTION ONE
Daytime Postpartum Doula Support
Our daytime support is hands-on, flexible, and genuinely helpful. We’re there when the to-do list feels endless and you’re balancing recovery, learning your baby, and possibly caring for older siblings. It’s support that meets you in the middle of the day when you need a break, a meal, or just another adult who gets it.
This might include holding your baby so you can shower, nap, or eat; guiding you through feedings; helping you learn to read your baby’s cues; or answering the same question repeatedly until it clicks. Sometimes it’s tidying or folding laundry so your space feels manageable, or just sitting with you while you process everything that’s changed.
Postpartum Support That Builds Confidence
We’re not there to take over. We’re there to make space: for recovery, bonding, and moving through this transition with more support and less second-guessing. We offer clear, evidence-based guidance without judgment or pressure.
With consistent, compassionate support, you’ll begin to trust yourself more. You’ll settle into your new “normal” feeling seen, heard, and supported. And when the hard moments come (they will), we’re there to remind you that you’re not alone and you’re doing better than you think.
OPTION TWO
Overnight Postpartum Doula Support
Sleep deprivation in those first weeks is brutal, and nothing truly prepares you for it. While it’s normal and developmentally appropriate for your baby to wake often to feed, exhaustion can take a serious toll. Without restorative sleep, fatigue and stress can slow healing, reduce milk supply, increase the risk of postpartum mood disorders, and make bonding harder.
That’s why our overnight postpartum doula support is designed to prioritize restorative sleep for you and provide nurturing, responsive care for your baby. Whether you’re breastfeeding and want your baby brought to you, or bottle feeding and need uninterrupted sleep, we’re here to support your recovery and well-being.
